My current research focus is on balancing human and system responsibilities for data analysis. I combine techniques from data visualization and Human-Computer Interaction to develop interactive tools that shifts some of the burden of data analysis from users to algorithms. I am also interested in conducting controlled experiments as a method to understand how visualizations can be used to support data analysis.

In summer 2014, I was a visiting scholar at the CNS Research Center. In 2013, I was a research intern in the HCI Group at Microsoft Research, where I was working on presentation tools. I was also a research assistant in school of computing at the National University of Singapore in 2012. I worked on tangible user interfaces in the NUS-HCI lab.
